Just use this same strategy on the Behemoth King and you'll surely win. Point-Warp (Hold TRIANGLE) to the nearby building to recover MP and repeat. After you've remodeled the Corsesca into the Harpoon or Dragon Whisker, you can have it replace your Knight's Lance. He uses guns and plays a lot differently than the others. To get to the final battle, send power to reach Galdin Quay (D4), the 4th and final Outpost. Unfortunately, it's also annoying to get as you'll need to do a hard Defense quest, Havoc Befalls the Hut, which you should have unlocked right after beating the Urgent: The Ghastly Griffon (D1). If you attack a Malbodoom near its mouth/teeth area, it may rarely drop a Petrified Disc. Important: If you wish to easily barter for the Chocobo Suit, which requires 3 Gorgeous Pelts, you should consider farming for them in this quest and resetting until you get the desired amount (e.g. If remodeling . As I said, he showed up for me in 3 out of 4 games within the first 2 hours (while I was specifically grinding the Karlabos quest early for kW). Use a mixture of the SMG (100 Bullets) and the Bazooka (3 Bullets) to mow down most regular enemies. Among the choices here, the best would probably be the 20% Imperial Discount (Wedge Kincaid) since it will save you a ton of Gil for all the Chrome Bits you're about to buy. For efficiency reasons, there's no need waste kW unlocking any Power Stations or Power Lines outside the paths shown on the map. But this was likely just a coincidence, or if not due to RNG, something besides the game clock itself being a factor. I simply did a little of the dismantling math in advance (37 Chrome Bits per Weapon = 74 STR), so you get the most bang for your buck. If you want to be super-optimal, you can skip Old Lestallum (A3) until after you've gotten to Urgent: Ghost in the Machine (D3). Remodels from a Harpoon with 100 Strength and 100 Vitality. If it's a Fragile Rock, press X. When attacking the Garulas and Mutant Garulas, try and stay in front of them and target their tusks. If you're playing a newer Comrades version, you won't be farming this much Gil. They can be sold for a very . If you attack and break their tusks, you'll get a Garula Tusk, which is much better for crafting than Garula Fur. > Glaive standing in the middle here for 1,000 Gil. Play data will be saved and the game will resume from Lestallum with all Royal Sigils collected. Luckily it's only a rare break drop, not a defeat enemy drop, so you can Abort the Quest right after breaking and getting the drop (before killing the Flan) and re-try till you get the Tainted Club. Because this will be one of your final four weapons, you will be keeping it at Level 1 until we get a better mat to craft with it in Crafting Goal #3. You'll also unlock many refugees, schematics, kW rewards, and a new Outpost: Norduscaen Garrison. This crafting goal will be an ongoing goal for the next few quests. If you've excavated them all and have time to spare, feel free to mine the Metal-Laden rocks for some Platinum Ingots (+HP crafting mats), Fossil-Laden rocks for Ancient Dragon Tooths (+STR/VIT mats), and Crystal-Laden rocks for some extra kW. While still on Version 1.0, this is your only (or at least easiest) chance to make a Level 1 Character with the Equalizer Buff. Afterwards, you'll earn a few weapons for beating them (nothing special unfortunately): Right after beating Ignis, you should earn the Trophy: Royal Retinue Rumble (King of Combat). This "Weak DW + Chrome Bit Gear" setup will then allow you to easily take on the 1.0 storyline final boss, and up until you get to the high level 80/90 Quests in the 1.2 content, which requires the new gear. When the battle starts, it will take Ifrit several seconds to get up from his throne and actually be susceptible to any damage. (This is the best available quest to do so.). If you're trying for the Tears (which I don't recommend your first time), you'll want to keep its face area targeted and break the horns as your first priority to ensure you don't kill it before the break. Your first task is to get the "initial" 7 Royal Sigils. In order to advance the storyline and continue with the Walkthrough, you'll now need to acquire a Level 99 Chocobo. If you're playing the Standalone, your allies should start with ingredients. The Magic Pot will give you 100kWx99 (9,900 kw!). If you die (you don't start with any ingredients), a Comrade will auto-revive you, so no worries. Buy 1 Clarity Shield (7,030 Gil) from the Weapons Shop and replace one of your remaining Kite Shields with it. I recommend not wasting too much MP on Jitterbug here since you'll need the MP to Warp-Strike and do midair steps with Aerial Ace. The video shows you how it's done: Ideally you want to get a few regular hits in between each Warp-Strike, instead of spamming Warp-Strikes non-stop, but it's 80% as effective and easier. I've tested each ability on two Level 99 Dragon Whiskers with identical STR, and the Penetrator version came out on top by 300-500 extra damage per aerial hit against the final boss in 1.0. The Killer Bees near the end are annoying, but just try a combination of Warp-Strikes and jump attacking. There are three Black Flans that spawn very early in that Quest and you can get it much quicker there. The Bros will all be at fixed levels between Level 42-46. This will do a very quick 10-hit Combo and is faster than aerial attacking. When attacking Ifrit, float like a butterfly, sting like a bee is the key. Use these early waves to get acquainted with the character you're using, as all four bros play very differently. If you started by playing Comrades 1.0: 68 Drooping Whiskers (118,320 Gil or 94,656 Gil [20%]) . This is more than enough to handle the final three high-level quests you'll need to do. Breaking the second leg will cause it to stay down permanently. The Clarity Shield will only have 90% Fire Resistance via the Sinister Sharpscales (the other 10% should come from the Dragon Whisker) and 100% Shot Resistance. My best advice for now is to just keep plowing through and farm for the mats you'll need in Crafting Goal #5. Drooping Whiskers. This quest is about 25 minutes long. It's pretty OP for this point in the game. Then it's some more Magitek enemies and a Daemonwall (no time limit like in FF4). Start a brand new Comrades Save File (preferably on Comrades 1.0.0). The 1.26 update should be around 30.0 GB in size, and like before, say it's for the current latest version (e.g. HOME; Brewer's droop an old wives' tale. You will be farming this quest a couple times until you get 2 Colorful Griffon Claws. There is no Urgent for this E path; it's the 38,000 kW Power Line you probably noticed early on as you were powering the B Path (near Lestallum). This item is obtained as a common defeat/reward drop for killing the Mutant Treant. This won't be until several hours into the game. Point-Warp to a lamp post if the situation is hairy or you need MP. What's Drooping Whiskers used for? If you run out of Laser Sensors, do the Item Drop Bug in Ghost in the Machine. FFXV INFORMATION and INFORMATION (game update information) options for all FINAL FANTASY XV models will be deleted, and some functions of the PC version of FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION will be partially discontinued. Divine Whiskers Silky whiskers of a mature serpent, very resilient and able to shed any liquid. 2023 GAMESPOT, A FANDOM COMPANY. You will be farming this quest for kW until you get to Urgent: Ghost in the Machine (D3). Also, please do not use your "Crafter" character (if you have one) for this dismantling part, as it will change the parts you earn. The Veleses will try and stomp you with their legs, and you will see the SQUARE Icon (Block) appear on the screen. In Lestallum, on the mini-map, you will eventually see a new < ? At any rate, when you get here, you will probably be around Level 17 or so. Ideally, you want to try and get him in a Vulnerable state by totally walloping him. Australia's premier agricultural market place. If you make a mistake and accidentally dismantled your newer Clarity Shield, you can always Hold PS Button > Close Application (FFXV) before exiting the Crafting Screen as the game doesn't auto-save until exiting it. Now, make a backup save onto your USB Storage and/or Upload to PS+! I'll remind you when I want you to go do it. However, if you have no choice and are playing a newer version like 1.2 or the Standalone, I've added alternate strategies for your versions in Highlighted Blocks like the one above. You can also decide to not elect a leader and postpone the decision for the future (the refugees will always be waiting for you here, and it's not required to pick anyone for the purposes of this Walkthrough). Back up your FFXV Comrades save data onto USB/PS+ (~100MB) and then delete it from your system storage. For now, just keep it at Level 1 and replace one of your Level 1 Kite Shields with it. You shouldn't need to spend more than ~10 minutes in a battle to hit 99 Laser Sensors. Comrades 1.2). Cornflower (Petrified Disc) in Hunt: Smog on the Water (0:58 Video). In the 2nd wave, the Karlabos boss will arrive with some more mobs. So, just to finally prove these rumors don't work offline (and were just a lucky coincidence), here are screenshots I took. Instead, you should go to Meldacio Hunter HQ and buy a Level 1 Clarity Shield. Some people believe this is a waste. Probably You'll need to have seen the Nest Manager be the Chef for you in order to get this trophy. The Dragon Horns dropped about 20% of the time for me, but you'll want both mats for Crafting Goal #5. If you started by playing 1.0 and did the Item Drop Bug in Ghost (farming a lot of Gil), buy the 500,000 kW (222,000 Gil or 177,600 Gil [20%]). Roboresurrection Chain Warping (0:35 Video). However, if you don't have 99 Laser Sensors, you may be better off grinding Urgent: Ghost in the Machine (3,600 Gil) to knock out two birds with one stone. It will take 37 Chrome Bits total to go from Level 1 - 51 on your Javelin -- don't worry, it's OK if you didn't have enough Chrome Bits to go all the way to Level 51 right now. You can start dismantling when you get the Engine Schematics (Key Item) in the 1.2 storyline, which is obtained by powering up Hidden Harbor on the electrical grid. Power up the 13,000 kW Power Line it was blocking to get The Just's Sigil: Omniguard. That said, if you can at all help it, I highly recommend playing 1.0 when starting (see the Introduction and Setup sections for details on how to get to this version). You'll probably be around Level 6. It's OK if you let some Goblins run past you, as you should kill him pretty quickly. It's time to do one last status check. You'll need to power a Power Line southwest of Old Lestallum to get access to this quest (reference E1 on the map). You'll get more Weapons and Items: Tip: When fighting all three, kill Ignis first as he can do a ton of damage from afar. Talk to Weskham up at the top of the lighthouse, then talk to the other man to travel back to Lestallum. Unfortunately, even in 1.0, the game is storing rollover EXP past the current Level cap (99). The Penetrator's enemy defense reduction is more advantageous to your final damage output than the Air Supramacy X's increase to your existing damage. When Ifrit starts shooting fireballs, put up your Barrier (SQUARE) to avoid being knocked back somewhere. This walkthrough is compatible with any version of Comrades, from the older FFXV Main Game versions to the newer Standalone release. I tended to get the Colorful variant about 25-50% of the time (it's not a super rare drop). Each time you finish it, send power on the electrical grid to get to the next destination, which would be 10,000 kW (A2). Also, note that you can ride the Elevator all the way up to the top of the Lighthouse and talk to Weskham and buy additional Avatar/Clothing Items (though you shouldn't right now). It's not a big deal if you decide to get it done now though. We'll craft using Curved Hollowhorns instead of Laser Sensors because we don't want to use those up until we get the 30% Cid Buff, and the Curved Hollowhorns provide a great amount of STR as an alternative. You don't have to do this for the purposes of the Walkthrough, though. You should now have these four weapons, all in your inventory at Level 1: Corsesca, Dancing Daggers, Imperial Blades, and Clarity Shield. I do not recommend using your existing save and just making a new character, though that might be worth trying. By using collectable treasures, a weapon's base stats, level, and effects can be improved and altered. This will give you access to Comrades 1.2 content and let you start earning the Main Game's second set of trophies. To remodel the Javelin, you must get the VIT stat (Fist Icon) to at least 20 before getting the Weapon to Level 20. Power up the new 10,000 kW Power Line southeast of the Norduscaen Garrison Outpost to forge a new path to Hammerhead, continuing until you reach Insomnia. You should have gotten 3 Meteorites from dismantling your old Level 51 Knight's Lance, Imperial X-Blades, and Clarity Shield. This is so you get the remodeled version's +300 HP Bonus immediately. After the bees, Point-Warp (TRIANGLE) to high ground, move across the beam carefully, then Blade-Warp (L1 + TRIANGLE) to the woman on the ropeway and help her to finish out the quest. With the Aerial Ace Sigil, a little less. Here we have 8 Weapon Builds from the community for FFXV Comrades. To make it a bit easier, you should equip the The Fierce's Sigil: Rampage. A guide i wrote to those who want to minimize the grind but still have a decent character capable of soloing Comrades. The Daggers have a special ability buff called Jitterbug that gives you a pretty sweet STR + VIT Buff (ATK + DEF) to yourself and everyone around you for 30 seconds. It doesn't matter so much for this Javelin since we won't be using it for very long, but if you have one, a Great Garula Tusk (dropped by the Garulessa boss's tusks) has a nice Undaunted ability (Damage output increases by 10% against larger enemies e.g. Before killing the Mutant Iron Giant boss, try to break its sword-arm appendage first for an Iron Giant Armor (not required, but nice to have for Crafting Goal #1), then head into town: Lestallum. That's 1 STR and 1 VIT per 125 EXP, extremely efficient. The Imperial Blades remodel automatically to the Imperial X-Blades, max easily to Level 60, give you +300 HP, have a decent Lifedrain II ability, are super cheap, and actually end up with 10+ more VIT than the more expensive Imperial Axe, making them the better 4th Weapon in your GEAR. As you get more and more mats, keep going back to Cid and reference this section to continue crafting until you get one Weapon to Level 30. If you get the Tainted Club (Vitanova), craft it using Octolegs (from the Urgent: The Baleful Bandersnatch) or Insect Stingers (from the Escort: Mechanic on the Move, which is unlocked east of Urgent: The Ghastly Griffon), to get past its stringent 90 SPI remodeling requirements. You will be referencing this map of the electrical grid for the next several hours of the game. Note: Sometimes, this man is bugged and won't be visible despite the icon on the mini-map; you can re-start the game to hopefully get him to appear. Source. It's definitely a way more useful Weapon than the Imperial X-Blades you have right now, but it's unfortunately not as easy to get, which is why I've dubbed this an optional weapon. Afterwards, you'll receive The Oracle's Sigil: Healing Light and earn the Trophy: Kingly Blessing. Can break from Jormungand in Infernal Infestation. If you've powered up all the Power Lines and Stations you can, that means you only need about 100,000-150,000 kW to get to 999,999. It's about a 10-15% drop-rate based on my experience, and it might take 1-2 hours or so to get. You will have an easier time as you will have to Point-Warp less often to restore MP. We'll be buying a lot of kW after updating to Comrades 1.2 in order to do this. Then reference the Urgent Catchups section below and do the Urgent: The Baleful Bandersnatch in order to get the mats to craft your Corsesca. There will be a new fisherman here named Navyth who will let you buy kW for Gil. Value: 2,000 gil. At the depot, barter 5 Dynamo for a Dancing Daggers. When you need the 2nd Cactuar Needle for Crafting Goal #3, come back and do the Mining again. Your AI allies (Libertus, Miles, Elea) won't start with any ingredients, but you will. When fighting the Bandsersnatches, start by breaking their legs to have them fall over and be Vulnerable. It's possible to get 75%+ off his HP bar before the second phase depending on luck! To get VIT to 20, use a combination of +VIT mats like Strong Bone, Garula Tusk, and the Iron Giant Armor (don't be afraid to use the one you got from the tutorial -- you can actually get more of these from another quest). You've now lit up all of Lestallum, but you'll need to talk to Jeanne to light up one more small path to the first Royal Sigil in the game before you can start going to the Outposts. You should see a staircase leading down to your left, and he'll be on the shore down below fishing. READ MORE. I'll let you know which Urgents require this in each of the below sub-sections. Once you've gotten one weapon to Level 30, stop crafting and save your mats until we reach Crafting Goal #2. Selling 99 Electrolytic Condensers should net you 17,325 Gil per run and 99 Laser Sensors double that at 34,650 Gil. If you didn't get it to work, don't worry and just keep repeating the quest and practicing until you've done it a couple times. Note: You can mine all 8 times up until your pickaxe breaks, but you must be quick in exiting before the game auto-saves (which happens a couple seconds once you're back in Meldacio). (This should be a fairly easy/doable fight even if you only did Crafting Goal #2 and didn't get your Dragon Whisker yet.). (We'll be dismantling the old Weapons end-game for Meteorites.). Go back to Old Lestallum and find Navyth to buy more Meteorshards. Do the Hunt: A Tangled Web They Weave one time for more kW (it's an easy and straightforward quest) and then power the path, finishing with the 2,000 kW Power Line, to get to the Royal Sigil. Also, if you adjust your camera up a bit, you can Point-warp to an upper level above you (above the water/boat). Power only the E Paths (E1-E5) and you'll get the remaining 5 Royal Sigils you need (you should definitely already have the 2 others: The Oracle's Sigil: Healing Light and The Rogue's Sigil: Aerial Ace). Finally, try to break the boss's tusks to get a Great Garula Tusk. Your first priority is to use 18 Chrome Bits to level and remodel your Level 1 Imperial Blades into a Level 30 Imperial X-Blades. Also, check Crafting Goal #3 for your next steps as they also differ from Version 1.0. The Malboros will give you a clue with their mouths when they're about to do Bad Breath. On the electrical grid, look for a Chocobo south of Old Lestallum, and then use your Black Chocobo to forge a new path south toward Cape Caem. It can be a tough one with the AI because it's actually a pseudo Defense mission disguised as an Urgent. Once you've broken its head and tail points about halfway into the fight, you will start to do a lot more damage. If he's hitting low with the flames, you jump and attack him high. Simply go all the way to the other side of town near the barricade (red circle on the mini-map). The only thing worth noting is that you will need 200 Rusted Bits, so you'll need to go back to Old Lestallum two more times to restock. I designed the paths to both be simple and efficient; please don't worry, you won't be missing anything. You will be able to mine a rock about 2-3 times until the spot has been fully excavated, so if the game still lets you mine the rock again, do so. The Wasps sometimes drop Sharp Scythes, which you'll need 3 of later. You probably won't get the 999,999 kW trophy yet, but don't worry, we'll come back here later and get it as part of Trophy Cleanup #1. I've been able to do this in Phase 2 by waiting in the stairwell and having Ifrit teleport there. In the last wave, kill off all the Havocfangs first, then go for the Behemoth. Buy 99 Rusted Bits (11,880 Gil or 9504 Gil [20%]) from the Treasures Shop woman in the middle (trivia: this was actually an old woman in 1.0, but is now a younger woman in 1.2). When fighting from now on, you'll want to use the D-PAD to switch to your Dancing Daggers and activate Jitterbug (L2 + TRIANGLE), then switch back to your Polearm before attacking. Important: The item drop bug described here only works in older versions of FFXV Comrades (e.g. Very disappointingly weak, but capable I suppose You'll want to switch between using his Durandal and Dragoon Lance depending on the enemy's weakness. It is dropped by Magic Pots as their bonus (break) drop. Note: The Petrified Disc/Cornflower below is an optional weapon you can get very soon in the Walkthrough, so I'm including it in this Crafting Goal. So, please don't waste your time doing this. Also, there's two more Birthplaces, but they won't become available until you complete two optional Level 99 Quests. Refer to the Equalizer Buff section and after getting the buff, use the Boost Transfer Bug to transfer the buff to a new Level 1 Avatar. Does anyone know what's this for? The Rampage Sigil also gives you a nice Warp-Strike 6-hit combo attack and is quite effective against the final boss. Remember to Cure (L2 + TRIANGLE) often, and especially when you or the AI are under 50% HP. Now that you have your Level 99 Chocobo, you can create new paths on the electrical grid. If you get the Petrified Disc (Cornflower), craft and remodel it using Laser Sensors until reaching its cap at Level 70 and replace your Imperial X-Blades with it. Try and keep yourself buffed with Jitterburg. You will then Dismantle the Weapon and Scrap it, earning the Parts shown (repeating the process if the table asks you to do it more than one time). It isn't too bad though because you should get at least 1 Needle every 3 or so trips (on average). The Jabberwocks usually drop 6 ingredients like Fresh Heart and Big Beast Bone, which should be enough to guarantee you getting Cid's Level 3 Crafting Boost (if Cid shows up). Your avatar may end up in an "infinite loop" of getting back up and falling back down. Just make sure to remember to go back to Aerial Ace after you're done. If you have your Fire Resistance and Shot Resistance high enough, you won't take damage from the fireballs. While it would be slightly more optimal at this point to not have it equipped, I recommend just equipping it only for the next two Urgent Quests you'll be doing. Wave 1 are Goblins, Imps, and Garchimaceras and Wave 2 are Mindflayers and a lone Necromancer. You can travel here (and to all other Outposts) by using the Shuttle (Truck) in Lestallum. The Ice resistance isn't as commonly needed, but could be in the future, so I recommend just having all five for convenience. You'll start with Glad, who should already be in town by now. Silky serpent whiskers, very resilient and able to shed any liquid. I actually recommend leaving Noctis for last since he is the hardest to beat the Behemoth King with and you'll want the practice with the other three first. However, you can still earn a handful of Laser Sensors per run (usually 1-3). There are three phases during the fight with Ifrit. until you get the 2 Cactuar Needles. The Malboros drop Malboro Tentacles, a 10 ingredient. With the Rampage Sigil's Warp-Strike, you are very hard to hit for several frames, so if you and him both attack simultaneously, most of the time you'll come out on top. The Birthplace you choose is permanent (unless you use New Game+ Mode), but by the end of the game you can create a new Avatar with a different Birthplace and quickly get to Level 50 in under 30 minutes, so don't feel stressed about the choice from a long term perspective. See Crafting Goal #3 for the specific crafting steps if needed. You should get at least 1-2 Sharp Scythes per run, so you should only need to repeat this quest once or twice. Personal Note: I've had the most success with getting the Nest Manager to appear as a chef early at this point in the game when repeating this quest (in 3 out of 4 playthroughs). The multiple E Paths we'll leave for the end, and the F Path is something I want to highlight now to you but want you to hold off from powering until you've gotten a Level 99 Chocobo. You'll fight two Malbodooms in this quest. However, if you absolutely have to try doing this though, I recommend creating a new Level 1 Character, equipping them with your Dragon Whisker and other high level gear, and doing a high level Quest in which the Level 5 AI will die quickly in (make sure they are completely dead, e.g. You can also set your "Save Point" here (near the music-playing trio by Cid's Remodeling Station) so that when you begin the game, you start here instead of Lestallum. Switch to your Javelin using the D-PAD. You can now start to light up the way to the four outposts. Ignore the smaller Malboro Sprouts, stay behind the big Malboro and attack. If you failed to remodel your Javelin into a Heavy Lance at Level 20, begin to level one of your Kite Shields to Level 30. When you've cleared the area, give it to the Magic Pot by Holding TRIANGLE. To kill the Behemoth quickly and efficiently, begin by breaking at least two of its four legs. There's a special item in this quest called a Behemoth Tears, a rare drop from breaking the last Behemoth's horns. See the Missables and One-Time Only Opportunities section for more details. Also, Ignis sometimes does a high damaging counter move as well, so be quick and careful with him. You'll also unlock two new optional Level 99 Quests Rematch: The Pyreburner's Trial and Final Round: The Bladekeeper's Trial. . Then, apply a final strength or vitality gemstone to get what amounts to a bonus 39 strength or vitality points with the 30% . If you didn't get the Cactuar Needle or time is about to run out, use the Close Application Trick (Hold PS Button > Close Application) while you're still in the mining field. If you equipped Healing Light you will have a lot of MP and a very powerful and wide-reaching cure. First, travel to Meldacio and re-buy 1 Imperial Blades (3,000 Gil) and 1 Clarity Shield (7,030 Gil). I like the shorter red lines that are on the street the most as the game seems to give you more breathing space before aborting you from the quest. Note: This section only applies to those playing Version 1.0. Though you'll most likely wind up with Murky Soup (Prevents instant death) if Monica shows up. The dismantling and crafting sections will take around 30-60 minutes to complete, so make a backup save in case you make a mistake. When you want to stop, just switch to your Polearm to make short work of it. You need 52 to do 3 of your weapons, and the rest of the sensors for just the Corsesca/Dragon Whisker. Equipment & Magic / Items / Treasures. There are plenty of ingredients near the Behemoth King, so just prioritize picking one up if you die. If you want to be optimal though, keep continuing with the Shuriken for another 3 or so minutes and try to hit 99 Laser Sensors. After defeating him, view the ending to earn the Trophy: Cleaving a Path. Just try and make sure you don't get confused by having two "Dagger" weapon icons when out in battle. (Trophy: Beacon of Hope), Crafting Goal #1: Remodeling a Javelin into a Level 30 Weapon (Trophy: One with Your Blade), Descent into Darkness: Supply power to major outposts. FFXV 1.26), your Knight's Lance will be at Level 60 (OK to dismantle), but you won't be dismantling the "Old" Imperial X-Blades or Clarity Shield you are currently wearing right now. It took 48 hours for me to see him in one playthrough (Comrades 1.2), while I was grinding Ghost in the Machine. Down = Dancing, Right = Imperial), though the game will always tell you the name of the currently equipped weapon.
